Dubai Strobist’s 13th Meetup 28th February 2009 at Capital D Studio
Hi all I’ve made a booking at Capital D Studio for Saturday 28th February from 2 – 6 p.m.’ish for a meetup.
As usual if you can arrange any models, or willing friends wanting to model, please bring them along.
Here’s the link to Capital D Studio, which is essentially behind Modern Bakery, near the Gold and Diamond Park.
For those of you interested in the GPP event this year checkout the website for full details of all the courses on offer. Ticket sales will commence midnight Wednesday 18 February 2009 and there will be an Early Bird Discount of 10% until midnight Monday 2 March 2009.
Hope to see you at our next meetup and also GPP 2009, bfn Nigel

I’ll be up for the 28th. I hope to bring a friend as a model, she’s of Indian/Singaporean origin and wants some arty black and white shots as in the heyday of Marlene Dietrich! Should be fun.
Incidentally, I hope to be at GPP, I’ll be doing mostly the David Hobby courses as mastering strobism (strobist-ism?) is my photography objective for the year.
Cheers

Thanks Nigel. There will be two to three models coming this time who couldn’t make it last time.

Sandeep/Jim: Thanks for the models, may also be able to bring some people
Rehan: Yes, we take the studio charge and divide it by the number of photogs – normally about 100-120Dhs each.

I think this time we need a plan.. there will be too many models.. until some unforeseen circumstances ruins it. To cover them all, we need to switch them in time among the lighting setups and give each one equal importance.

I will bring the Viewfinder Photography Speedlight accessories kit along with me.. so if anyone wants it.. can order it.. its a really interesting kit.

Hello All,
If we have more photographers or models in any case, can we arrange sessions to do the shoots in batches of photographers, we also can have 2 days or 2 studios. If its possible i can arrange the studio for half day or full day.
How about if any photographer or model wants to work with some specific one, in that case what can be done.
You guys can check my work on rehan.rlstudioworld.com
Cheers

Rehan,
We always work as a group in our strobist meet. If there are too many models than either we will increase the lighting setups or we will quickly shuffle models among the groups and lighting setups. Not all models who comes into our meet are models by career, some are friends and may be family member who assist us in our shoot.
